This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Find My Mahjong collects when you use our website, mobile applications and related services (the "Service"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We keep this short and in plain English on purpose.

Find My Mahjong is owned and operated by Trans-System International Company, of 174 Duke Trail, Weatherford, Texas 76088, which is the company responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

Account details — your name, email address, mobile phone number, and the password you choose.
Player profile — the city or ZIP code you play in, your experience level, and any preferences you set.
Bookings — the games you reserve, cancel or waitlist for, and any note you send a Host.
Host listings — if you host, the game details and venue address you publish.
Messages — what you send us by email, text or the contact form.

Information collected automatically

Device and log data — IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit. We show you the IP address recorded with a booking on the booking screen itself.
Cookies and similar technologies — used to keep you signed in, remember your search filters, and measure how the site is used.

2. How we use it

To create and maintain your account and sign you in.
To show you games near you and to take, confirm and manage bookings.
To send service messages — booking confirmations, reminders, waitlist notices, phone verification codes and password resets — by email or text. See our SMS / Messaging Policy.
To give a Host the information they need to seat you (see §3).
To keep the community safe: preventing fraud, spam, abuse and duplicate or no-show bookings.
To measure and improve the Service, and to select the advertising shown on it.
To meet legal obligations and to enforce our Terms of Service.

3. Who we share it with

Hosts — when you book a seat, the Host of that game sees your first name, last initial and the seat you hold, so they can expect you at the table. Your email address and phone number are not published in a listing.
Service providers — companies that host our servers, deliver our email and text messages, and process payments for merchandise. They may use your information only to perform those services for us.
Legal — where we are required by law, or where it is necessary to protect the rights, safety or property of Find My Mahjong, our members or the public.
Business transfer — if the Service is merged with or acquired by another organisation, member information may transfer as part of that transaction; we will say so on the site beforehand.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. SMS opt-in data — explicit protection

These SMS-specific protections apply in addition to everything above:

No phone or mobile number information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Every category of data sharing described in this policy excludes text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent; that information is not shared with any third party for marketing or promotional use.
We will not sell, rent or share your SMS opt-in information with any third party for any reason other than delivering the messages you asked for. Your number is shared only with the vendors directly involved in sending them — our messaging platform and the phone carriers.

5. Advertising

The Service is free to players and is supported by advertising. Ads are selected using general information such as the region you are searching in and the pages you view. We do not give advertisers your name, email address or phone number.

6. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies (sign-in and security), preference cookies (your last search) and measurement cookies (aggregate usage). Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies; if you block the necessary ones, signing in and booking will not work.

7. Retention — how long we keep it

We keep account information for as long as your account is open, and booking history for up to three years afterwards so that Hosts and players have an accurate record. Log data is kept for a shorter period. When information is no longer needed we delete it or anonymise it.

8. Security

Traffic to the Service is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text, and access to member data inside our systems is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and tell us straight away if you think your account has been misused.

9. Your rights and choices

See or correct your information from your profile page, or by writing to us.
Delete your account and personal information by emailing hello@findmymahjong.org. We will confirm when it is done, keeping only what the law requires.
Stop text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message from us — see the SMS / Messaging Policy.
Stop marketing email using the unsubscribe link in any such email. Service messages about a booking you made will still be sent.

Depending on where you live you may have additional rights — for example under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act or the California Consumer Privacy Act — including the right to know what we hold, to have it corrected or deleted, and not to be discriminated against for exercising a right. Write to us and we will honour them.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Where your information is held

Find My Mahjong operates in the United States and stores member information on servers located there. If you use the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will revise the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, give notice on the site before the change takes effect.
